Protect Our Neighborhoods (PON) believe Coloradans deserve a say in where gambling occurs in our state and how it operates. There is no question that legal casino gaming has benefited the communities of Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and Central City, but that does not mean that gambling belongs in every Colorado neighborhood – especially those whose residents hope to avoid it. Efforts to expand gambling throughout Colorado have historically failed by more than 40 points. While Coloradans appreciate the opportunity to travel to legal gambling destinations and enjoy their services, they have made it clear that they do not wish to bring it casino gaming to the communities they call home.

Coloradans’ right to weigh in on all proposed expansions to casino gaming is protected by our state’s constitution. Since our founding, Protect Our Neighborhoods has been the only statewide non-profit association committed to protecting and preserving that right. Today, amid a growing wave of efforts to expand gambling throughout Colorado, our work is more important than ever. Coloradans deserve to have their voice heard, and PON is committed to ensuring that Colorado lives up to its promise of prior voter approval, today and in the future.
